Mrs. Simone Lee Tung is the Manager, Information Technology at UWI-ROYTEC. She has been working in the Information Technology field for the past ten (10) years and has twenty (20) years' experience in the higher education sector. Simone has a passion for the use of technology for operational excellence in the evolving business environment. She holds a B.Sc. in Computer Science from the University of Hertfordshire, and an MBA from the Australian Institute of Business. She also holds the PMP credential from the Project Management Institute (PMI) and is a member of the PMI Southern Caribbean Chapter.
Simone leads the team responsible for maintaining the IT resources and infrastructure of UWI-ROYTEC in support of our core business which is teaching and learning. As Manager, Information Technology, Simone oversees the purchasing, installation and maintenance of all IT hardware and software, leads and oversee all special projects where technology is the driver for business process improvement, manages the IT department's human and financial resources, provides technology support, training and consultation to all stakeholders and manages and oversees the implementation of information systems that support the institutions' operations.
Simone's career milestones at UWI-ROYTEC include implementation of the Student Administration System in 2010, implementation of Online Admissions in 2014, implementation of a Mass Messaging Platform (Blackboard Connect) in 2015, overseeing and supporting the institution's transition to remote operations and emergency online teaching during the global pandemic in 2020 and her most recent project which involves the implementation of a Learning Management System at the institution.

Kerry-Ann Xavier - Lecturer, Information Technology

Ms. Kerry-Ann Xavier is a member of UWI-ROYTEC faculty since 2019. She delivers courses in Computer Hardware, Computer Networks and Web Design at the Associate of Science Degree in Information Systems Management (ADISM) level and Advanced Web Design, Data Structures and Senior Seminar II at the Bachelor of Science Degree in Information Systems Management (BISM) level. Kerry-Ann has been teaching at the tertiary level since 2015 and holds a MSc in Information Communications Technology from the University of Trinidad and Tobago.
Kerry-Ann has worked in the field of ICT for the past fourteen years. She has held various positions in the sectors of Telecommunications, Health and Law/Justice including the Judiciary of Trinidad and Tobago as an Internet/Intranet Support Officer, Inter Caribbean Networking Solutions as an Operations Manager, Norex Communications Limited as an Administrative Coordinator, and the North West Regional Health Authority as the Assistant Manager Information Systems and Information Technology.
Kerry-Ann has worked alongside some of the most talented personnel in the field on projects ranging from Intranet implementations, to tracking KPIs and a range of jobs in between, which has allowed her to develop a wide skillset using ICT to achieve business objectives and enhance business operations. She enjoys guiding her students through their studies in ICT and believes this to be one of her most rewarding career experiences.

Sheena Sylvester - Lecturer, Information Technology

Ms. Sheena Sylvester is an IT professional with over fifteen (15) years of experience in the Information Technology domain. She brought her technical expertise, and passion for teaching and learning to the institution when she joined as a faculty member in September 2018. Sheena teaches courses in Programming, Web Design, Management Information Systems and Database Design and Development in the Associate of Science Degree in Information Systems Management (ADISM) programme.
Sheena holds a BSc. Computing and Information Systems with First Class Honours from the University of Greenwich and graduated as valedictorian. She also holds an MSc. in Information Computing Technology from the University of Trinidad and Tobago, and received an award as the top ICT performer.
Sheena has held positions aligned with the support, maintenance and development of Information Systems and currently applies her expertise as an Analyst/Developer for a financial institution. Her inclination to follow a career in IT was fuelled by her passion for problem solving and innovation. It is this same passion that she tries to ignite among her students in the classroom.
UWI-ROYTEC recognizes Sheena Sylvester for her success in producing graduates that find employment in the world of IT which allows them to explore and feed their love for innovation and all things IT.
Annoushka Ishmael - Lecturer, Information Technology

Ms. Annoushka Ishmael is an Educator and an ICT Facilitator with the Ministry of Education and has been teaching at the secondary school level for the last eighteen (18) years. She holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Computing & Information Systems from the University of London, a Master of Science Degree in Management Information Systems from the University of Greenwich as well as a Postgraduate Diploma in Educational Technology from the University of the West Indies.
Annoushka has been a Lecturer at UWI-ROYTEC since 2009 and teaches in the Bachelor of Education Degree (B.Ed.) programme, the Associate of Science Degree in Information Systems Management (ADISM) programme and the Bachelor of Science Degree in Information Systems Management (BISM). She teaches courses such as Learning with Technology, Management Information Systems, End User Support and Systems Analysis and Design. Annoushka has a special love for the university environment because it facilitates the interesting application of technology in various disciplines. Her passion for the educational technology field is innate. She was born to train teachers on the use of technology to transform their classroom environments and improve their own students' learning experience in school.
Annoushka has participated in significant competitions with respect to the use of ICT in education. She was awarded 2nd place in the Microsoft Partners in Learning Regional Competition held in Santiago, Chile in September 2011. She was also chosen as T&T's representative in Washington DC for the Microsoft Partners in Learning Global Competition in November 2011. In 2021, she was chosen to deliver I.C.T. training to educators across Trinidad & Tobago on the Notesmaster site. She was also selected to participate in a S.T.E.M. Teacher Training program with the S.T.E.M. Teacher Training Centre at York University in the U.K.

Sherry-Ann Mohammed - Lecturer, Information Technology

Ms. Sherry-Ann Mohammed has been an IT/Computer Science secondary school teacher with the Ministry of Education since 2000. She holds a BSc. in Computer Science and Management from the University of the West Indies and a MSc. Information and Communication Technology from the University of Trinidad and Tobago. Sherry-Ann is also well trained in Instructional and Assessment Strategies for Online Course Delivery and Course Design for Blended Learning. She joined the UWI-ROYTEC faculty in 2018 and teaches a range of courses in the Associate of Science Degree in Information Systems Management (ADISM) programme and the Bachelor of Science Degree in Information Systems Management (BISM).
Sherry-Ann is known for impacting school administration and processes by using her expertise to designed and create secondary school website and student databases. She has demonstrated outstanding knowledge and competence in computers and technology, creativity and ingenuity in bringing the school into the electronic age, including professionalism of student report cards, student files, confidential student records and teacher training using MS Office. Sherry-Ann's work has significantly impacted the secondary school community. She assisted in the research, design and creation of online teaching software as an alternative to traditional face to face schooling, including content, learning videos and databases of questions to enhance students' learning. She demonstrated initiative and creativity in the successful piloting of the software, which has now been purchased and being implemented in secondary schools across Trinidad and Tobago.
Sherry-Ann was fascinated with programming in her early days as a secondary school student. She knew she wanted a career that was different from the norm at the time and decided to pursue further studies in Computer Science. She initially joined the teaching service as a Mathematics teacher but quickly transitioned to teaching Computer Science and Information Technology as there was a need for such at that time. During her years of teaching IT in secondary school, Sherry-Ann has been able to positively impact the lives of many students, both boys and girls. She now does the same in higher education where she interacts with adult learners, imparting knowledge on application of technology in their respective career paths.
