The student experience commences with orientation sessions provided by UWI-ROYTEC. These orientations are conducted for each intake of students, resulting in three sets of orientations throughout the academic year. The orientation is open to all incoming students, and returning students who missed their initial orientation are also encouraged to participate.
The orientation process consists of two parts. Firstly, there is a welcoming ceremony that offers program-specific information. This formal program is referred to as the general orientation, and you can find more details about it in the accompanying videos. During this ceremony, you will have the opportunity to familiarize yourself with the institution, meet student council members, and gain insights into the exciting journey of tertiary education that lies ahead.
The second part of the orientation involves "break-out sessions." In these sessions, students are exposed to critical administrative elements that contribute to a positive experience during their time at UWI-ROYTEC. These sessions cover various important topics such as administrative matters, accessing online systems, handling examination-related issues, and making use of the available student support services. Faculty members address any concerns students may have and provide valuable tips to help them transition smoothly into their chosen academic program.
Beyond the formal orientation, a series of discussions, workshops, and activities are organized to further aid students in adapting to tertiary life. These events are designed to provide additional support and guidance as students embark on this new phase of their education journey. UWI-ROYTEC is committed to ensuring that all students feel welcomed, informed, and prepared for their academic pursuits and personal growth during their time at the institution.
